The Code Busters are a team of socialist organizers from our Mutual Aid Committee who help folks in the community avoid citations and fines from Code Compliance. As property taxes and the cost of living continue to rise, the Code Busters work to ensure that our community members, especially elderly, disabled, and low income folks, are able to stay in their homes. Since Code Compliance citations can lead to heavy fines or evictions, the Code Busters seek to help folks avoid these costly burdens. Oprima aqui para español.

Currently, the Code Busters provide assistance with yard work and trash pickup. We hope to expand our services to include tree trimming, basic plumbing work, weatherization, and painting; however, we are in need of volunteers who are familiar with that type of work. If you would like to help with any of these services, fill out our sign up form.

All of the services provided are completely free. In the spirit of mutual aid, we want to make sure that our community members who we assist are empowered and that they don’t feel like they’re receiving charity. Thus, we welcome any donations to our Houseless Mutual Aid program, in which we provide essential items to our houseless neighbors. In this way, we are building networks of people in our community who support each other and are less reliant on the state or charities for survival. 

We accept financial donations via Venmo, CashApp, and PayPal. Our username is SanAntonioDSA. However, donations are completely optional. We will provide our services to the best of our abilities with or without donations.
